Trust and safety on Pawprint
Last updated: October 15, 2026
Choosing pet care means choosing a person. Pawprint gives you identity information, reviews and ways to communicate and report concerns. Here’s what those tools do—and what you still need to check.
What does ID verification mean?
Provider onboarding uses Stripe Identity to check a government-issued photo ID with a matching selfie. Identity verification is required to create a service listing. Phone and email verification indicators are separate checks of those contact details.
ID verification is not a criminal background check, a reference check or an assessment of someone’s pet-care skills. An ID badge does not guarantee safe conduct or the quality of care. Read the profile, ask questions and decide whether the provider is right for your pet.
What about qualifications and insurance?
Providers can submit credentials such as licenses, certifications, proof of insurance or bonding for review. Where issuing-authority records are available, Pawprint checks against them; otherwise, it reviews the submitted document. Review can use automated tools and human reviewers.
A verified credential means it passed that review as of the date shown. It does not guarantee the document is authentic, that coverage remains active or that it covers a particular incident. Self-reported credentials and experience have not been verified by Pawprint. Ask the provider about the qualifications and coverage relevant to your pet’s care.
Where do reviews come from?
An owner can review a provider only after a qualifying completed booking with that provider. Consultations do not unlock reviews. A review may appear on one of the provider’s service listings even if the completed booking was for another service with that provider.
Read the details of the experiences, as well as the rating. Reviews and badges help you evaluate a provider; they are not a promise about your next booking.
Keep the conversation and booking on Pawprint
You can message a provider before, during and after care. Use the conversation to discuss routines, handling needs, handoff arrangements and the updates you expect. Pawprint supports check-ins, photo updates and live dog-walk tracking, but it does not supervise providers’ work.
Keep service payments on Pawprint. Messages and other content may be screened for safety and attempts to move transactions off-platform. Booking through Pawprint keeps the booking and payment record available if you need help.
Report a concern or block contact
Use Report in the app to flag spam, inappropriate behavior, harassment, fraud or another concern. Include enough detail to explain what happened. You can also contact support@pawprint.company or go to Settings → Help & Support.
Block stops direct messages between you and that person. Blocking does not cancel an existing booking or request a refund. If you have upcoming or active care with that person, contact support and review the booking separately.
For a service or payment problem, use the appropriate booking action too. A user report is separate from a completed-booking dispute; see dispute deadlines and how to get help.
Before you hand over your pet
Ask about experience with your pet’s needs, who will provide the care, where your pet will stay and how problems will be handled. Share accurate care instructions and agree on updates. Pawprint is a marketplace connecting owners and independent providers; it does not guarantee a provider’s services.
Common questions
Does an ID-verified badge mean a background check was done?
No. Stripe Identity checks a government-issued photo ID and matching selfie. ID verification is not a criminal background check, a reference check or a guarantee of a provider’s skills or conduct.
Can someone review a provider without completing a booking?
No. Pawprint requires a qualifying completed booking with that provider before an owner can review them. Consultations do not unlock reviews, and the review may be attached to a different service from the same provider.
Does blocking someone cancel my booking?
No. Blocking stops direct messages between you and that person. Review any existing booking separately and contact support if you need help; blocking does not request a cancellation or refund.
